Who Is Bad Bunny? From Vega Baja to Album of the Year

· The Artist

Reggaeton, Latin trap, a bunny face and an island he never stops singing about. If you're new to Bad Bunny, or you just want the basics in one place, here's a quick guide from the Bad Bunny Merch crew.

Who is Bad Bunny?

Bad Bunny is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, born on March 10, 1994, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, and raised in the Almirante Sur barrio of Vega Baja. His music moves between Latin trap, reggaeton, Latin hip-hop and Latin pop, and he sings it in Spanish.

Where does the name come from?

As a kid he was made to wear a bunny costume, and he hated it. Years later he picked the name Bad Bunny anyway. You'll find the bunny face, with crosses for eyes and a little frown, all over our shop.

How did he get started?

He wrote his own songs from the age of 14 and worked as a bagger and cashier at a supermarket while posting music on SoundCloud. In 2016, "Diles" caught the ear of DJ Luian, who signed him to Hear This Music.

Where should I start listening?

And the Super Bowl?

On February 8, 2026, he headlined the Super Bowl LX halftime show, the first solo Latino headliner, and sang it mostly in Spanish.
